The
earlist form of Ikebana, originally called Tatehana and used
as Buddhist offerings in temples and allcoves called Tokonoma.
It is an arrangement with more than five different materials emphasizing
the beauty of harmomy. In any exhibit, several type of Rikka are
displayed from Koten or Clsddical forms, to Meiji
Era and Modern rikka which fits the lifestyle of our time and use
more varieties of materials and containers. The new style called
Shimpu-tai has been formurated to match contemporary feeling in
the 21 century.
